Anxiety/Depression

Beth is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with many years of experience in the field of counseling. Beth is passionate about restoring hope to others and empowering clients to overcome obstacles that stand in the way of their life and relationship goals. She believes that each individual is put on this earth to achieve a life of purpose and meaning. Beth helps her clients to find the courage to overcome anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship difficulties. Beth’s therapeutic approach is eclectic and integrates CBT (cognitive behavior therapy), DBT (dialectical behavior therapy), and ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy). She enjoys working with adults, teens, couples, and families.

Beth is a gifted clinician when walking alongside clients in recovery. Beth’s nurturing and non-judgmental style is a gift for her clients as they navigate their own unique 12-step journeys. Beth is well-versed in helping clients navigate AA, Al-Anon, ACOA, CODA, SLA, Celebrate Recovery, and more. In addition, Beth works with parents, siblings, family members, and partners who are experiencing the unique challenges of setting healthy boundaries, practicing self-care, and supporting a loved one struggling with problematic substance use.

Beth has a love for liberating and empowering clients by helping them find peace and closure in traumatic experiences. Beth’s clients are often seeking to heal childhood wounds, experiences of sexual and physical abuse, relational trauma from infidelity, and other traumatic life events. Beth understands that traumatic experiences are often at the root of self-sabotaging behaviors and low self-esteem. Beth utilizes EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to get to the heart of the healing process and shift the narratives that challenge personal growth and healing. When in line with the client’s belief system, Beth integrates faith and spirituality into the therapeutic process. She is also sensitive to those seeking a more secular approach.

Beth works with couples and parents at all stages of life. She uses her warm, nurturing style to help clients navigate the wounds of infidelity, build healthier communication patterns, and enhance connection. Beth incorporates Gottman’s evidence-based interventions in her work with couples to build resiliency and foster healthy connections in their relationship. In addition, Beth is well-versed in the complexities of parenting in today’s world. Beth is passionate about helping parents of all ages and stages as they navigate their unique parenting journeys with their children. Whether you are a young couple adjusting to a new baby, a parent seeking learning disability accommodations in school systems, or a parent trying to navigate a teen through the world of social media and technology challenges, Beth uses her vast knowledge and experience to help get you on the right track. Beth is gifted in helping parents develop a unique parenting plan that aligns with their personal values and skills.

Beth is a native Houstonian and is well acquainted with the Spring Branch/Memorial Area. Beth received her degree in Social Work from the University of Houston and her Psychology degree from Stephen F. Austin University. In addition to many years in private practice, Beth has worked in long-term residential treatment programs for teens, including MHMRA, and De Pelchin’s Children’s Center. She has a deep love for nature and animals and volunteers her time with wildlife care. Beth loves gardening and plays the violin in a volunteer symphony. She loves to read and dabbles in art when the time allows. Beth is a mother to three adult children and uses her professional and personal experiences to enrich the lives of others.
